Autopilot Software Engineer

Summary

Prioria seeks a passionate, experienced embedded software developer for the creation and implementation of low-level software functionality for use in autopilots and other robotic products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engineering design and implementation of software sub-systems and functionality in autopilots for small unmanned aerial systems
  • Creation of new functionality including new flight modes of operation, mode transitions, feedback loops, communication interfaces, protocols and messaging, failsafes, actuator control and optimization
  • Attend and present design reviews
  • Document designs with ample comments, reports, descriptions, issue tracking and resolution
  • Develop reusable software and system components, and integrate these into existing and new designs
  • Serve as technical lead on projects as assigned, working with customers to meet deliverables and address and resolve technology or system issues
  • Support real-world test operations, and develop bench and other test procedures
  • Some travel may be required

Required Skills

  • Technical degree with focus in Computer Science
  • Practical experience writing embedded software for an autopilot or similar robotics application

Production Technician

Summary

Conduct general manufacturing of electrical and mechanical systems for small unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and other small robotics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test small UAS vehicles
  • Build parts, assemblies, and products
  • Solder, modify, debug, and install small electronics
  • CNC machine operations to create parts from raw material
  • Composite material layup
  • Autoclave machine operation
  • Documenting and reporting builds

Minimum Requirements

  • A BS degree, or equivalent technical degree preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, very detail oriented
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Basic knowledge of engineering development processes
  • Strong analytical skills with which to solve various degrees of logistic problems
  • MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, Sharepoint, or equivalents
  • Possess the flexibility to occasionally work non-standard office hours upon request (evenings/weekends and/or holidays)
  • Able to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance

Summary

Prioria seeks an expert in computer vision for the creation and application of detection, tracking, optical flow, neural networks, and related methodologies for use in robotics products and research proposals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engineering design and implementation of computer vision algorithms such as detection, tracking, and optical flow, for use in robotics products and also to support research proposals.

Aeronautical Engineer

Summary

Conduct general engineering and design of aircraft structures and aero-mechanical systems on small unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with both fixed wing and rotary wing design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engineering and design of aerodynamic structures and mechanical systems for small UAS and payload systems.
  • Creation of new flight vehicles from a provided list of specifications.
  • SolidWorks modeling of components and designs.
  • Simulation-based analysis to prove design before prototyping.
  • Analysis and material selection of designed components, investigating the use of new materials, or improving existing materials.
  • Design targeting highly constrained size, weight, and power environments.
  • Attend and present design reviews.
  • Transition from SolidWorks models to rapid prototyping and production tooling.
  • Facilitate rapid creation of initial parts, learn in-house processes.
  • Work closely with other engineers, technicians, manufacturers, and suppliers to support current designs.
  • Develop manufacturing procedures for designed components.
  • Support flight test operations, and develop bench and flight test procedures.

  • Use industry standards for drawings and drawing control systems.

Electrical Design Engineer

Summary

Conduct general engineering and design of electrical/electronic systems for small unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and other small robotics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engineering and design of electrical systems for small aerial and ground robotic platforms and payload systems, involving a mix of digital and analog electronics
  • Designs target highly constrained size, weight, and power environments requiring advanced layout techniques
  • Designs frequently involve integration of advanced sensors, high-frequency digital signaling, and RF radiators in close proximity
  • Participate in definition of design parameters and specifications at a component level
  • Simulation-based analysis to prove design before prototyping
  • MentorGraphics software for schematic design and PCB layout
  • Attend and present design reviews
  • Design of cable, wire harness, and other interconnects
  • Generate design support material including bills of material, schematic prints, layout prints, interconnect diagrams, cable lengths, routing details, impedance reporting, etc.
  • Embedded programming to support design testing
  • Integration tests to verify functional operation
  • Generating test fixtures and test procedures for system level test
  • Assume design responsibility, using the relevant ISO quality procedures as guidelines, through all the development phases, up to and including engineering release
  • Support prototype build, test, evaluation and validation
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers as required
